The absolute coolest feature of curated content (in my humble opinion) is that it fits almost any business strategy where you generate content.

Just to clarify: In his Market Social Blueprint, Bill Guthrie suggests to build pure curation sites:

While there is nothing wrong with that business model, you can use curation strategies for so
many other things, too…

- to produce lots of articles or blog posts quickly…

- to generate ideas for reports, videos and other products

- to add the little extra to automated blogs…

- to get the kind of "tips" or "top list" posts which human readers love so much…

- to start interacting with your prospects on social sites. After all, you are collecting, rating and
commenting on content from which they benefit…

- and of course, you can add curated content to almost any other site. Curation doesn't have to
be your main source of content. But curation helps you to generate content more quickly, and sometimes that's just what you need.

Some other question about curated content is often discussed, and, frankly, often
misunderstood…

Curation and SEO go together very well — really!

Curation gives you regular fresh content.

And without going into the "unique content" debate too much… well, you might know what Oz
thinks about it, but anyways…

… the trick about curation is to make existing content "unique" by re-combining it and
reoptimizing it. Or in plain speak: you piece it together and add your own bits.
